Kobus Theunissen Pr Eng Tech
Kobus began his career at Eskom PTM in 1994 in the Eastern Cape, Aliwal North. In 1996, he joined ABB’s protection division, where he implemented various protection and control solutions for city councils, industry, and Eskom’s generation, transmission, and distribution sectors.
In 2006, he joined Schneider Electric to gain more exposure to the MV world. In 2007, he joined Murray and Robberts on the Pebble Bed project to learn more about designs in the EPCM sector.
After the project concluded, he returned to ABB as technical manager for Sub-Saharan Africa.
In 2012, he took on a completely new challenge, leading to the founding of Megawatt Solutions.
Since 2012, we have had the opportunity to assist various customers, both local and across Africa, with their protection and control applications.
Johan Potgieter
Johan has a very extensive career in substation and generator plant engineering and commissioning. Besides spending significant years at Eskom Generation, Johan also played a key role as a Commissioning lead in helping to establish the 765kV line, with substations from Alpha to Koeberg.
He played a key role in establishing the first self-built substation using breaker and half technology with extensive use of IEC61850 technology, for EDF / Optipower / Eskom.
Johan has extensive knowledge of Eskom's requirements and has a deep understanding of their standards and specifications.
Johan is the head of the site commissioning teams.
Daleen van Zyl
Daleen moved in as a SCADA engineer in the industry; however, she contributes much more than that to each project to guarantee success.
Overcoming various engineering challenges is just one of her strong points, combined with excellent customer relations, which prove to be a very crucial part of the success of a project.
Daleen heads up the SCADA team and manages the site teams.
Francois and Frikkie vd Walt
These brothers are the "bomb squad" of electrical construction work. Being second-generation in the trade, they are familiar with all it takes to establish a project and have a vast network of resources and suppliers. Their knowledge of substations and secondary plant makes a phenomenal combination for great success.
Francois and Frikkie are responsible for the construction work activities on a project.
